Sunproof® Fabric

Sunproof®, the trademark established as the premium quality fabric specially designed and weaved to perfectly dress your outdoor furniture. Sunproof is a high performing fabric for outdoors. Like all Fabrics, regular maintenance is strongly recommended.

Avoid prolonged exposure to any colour stripping chemicals, including but not limited to: bleach, chlorine, etc.

General Cleaning Information: Sunproof® recommend leaving cushion covers on the cushions for cleaning, rather than removing them and putting them in the washing machine. Wash using natural soap (not detergent) and rinse in cold water. Air dry only, never apply heat to the fabric or put Sunproof® into a tumble dryer. Dry cleaning is not recommended.


SUNPROOF® CUSHIONS

Despite the wonderful outdoor qualities of Sunproof® fabric please follow these instructions. Never store cushions while wet. We recommend that all cushioned chairs are covered with a furniture cover or stored inside to extend their life. For cushions with removable covers the best results will be obtained by removing the covers to wash them by hand or machine wash them on a delicate/gentle cycle and line dry in the shade before refitting.

Sunproof® fabric is carefully processed and has gone through a special treatment to reduce the fabric absorption of soil and stains. It keeps the fabric looking clean, fresh and new.

To further aid in avoiding stains, remove spills promptly. Stubborn stains can be removed using a mix of 50ml bleach and 15ml mild detergent mixed with 1L of warm water. Rinse thoroughly with fresh water after cleaning. DO NOT use solvent based cleaners, machine wash, dry clean or tumble dry.

Woven from 100% solution dyed olefin yarn. Sunproof® has chosen to use the premium quality of solution Dyed Olefin. Solution dyeing is a clean manufacturing process as the colour is added before the yarn is extruded. It is friendly to the environment and 100% recyclable.

Resistant to UV damage and fading. Sunproof® applies excellent ultraviolet blocking agents which protect the polymer backbone of the fabric from the effect of UV radiation.

Sunproof® fabric is also specially treated with a sanitized product for hygiene protection. This product inhibits microbial developments and mould stains.

MOULD/MILDEW

When left unmaintained and in an environment favourable to mould/mildew (hot, humid and dusty) spores can mark this and any other fabric. The following treatment may assist in the removal of stubborn stains like mould/mildew once the mould/mildew has been washed off.

• Apply PREEN VANISH (Oxi Action) as per instructions, which is spray on stain and leave for 5 minutes.
• Soak in a solution of Vanish NapiSan for 1 hour.
• Rinse and air dry
• If the mark(s) have not washed away, it may then be necessary to soak overnight followed by a thorough rinse and air drying.

Outdoor Wood Teak & Iroko

Iroko or Teak is a hardwood that is quite resistant to insects and rot. It is able to withstand exposure to the elements due to its naturally high oil content. When left to age outdoors, it typically turns a beautiful silverish grey over time. It is still important to keep up maintenance on your Iroko or Teak wood furniture to extend its lifespan. When not in use, we recommend covering your pieces, or storing them under cover. To maintain your pieces, all that is needed is a light sanding with fine steelwool or fine sandpaper every 3 months which will keep the wood clean and smooth to touch . If you must, for added protection, we recommend our Deep Wood Feeder Product made by Studio Antqiues, available on request. Please note : this may change the colour.
